Work ethic and general policies

Work based on trust:

  1. I am a Jungian psychoanalyst and psychotherapist specializing in individual consultation with seniors (+65), adults, adolescents and children. Once we agree to work together, patients (or their carers) make a commitment to meet at least four times.

  2. I do not check any social or media profiles of clients. I base my working relationship with you on trust and I work only with the material that you bring in therapy and that you feel comfortable for me to know.

  3. To avoid dual relationships, I do not accept friend requests from patients on my personal social media profiles.

Emergency situations:

  1. For an acute emergency in which you need to talk to someone right away, contact 144 or the closest 24-hour emergency psychiatric service: in Geneva 022 372 38 62.

  2. I do not offer emergency care or crisis intervention. I am available via email or telephone to established patients.

Clinical work between sessions:

  1. If you need to contact me between sessions about a clinical matter, please text or email and I will reply as soon as I can.

  2. If we spend more than 10 minutes on the phone or if I spend more than 10 minutes reading and responding to your emails, I will treat that time as therapy time and bill you at our usual hourly rate on a prorated basis for that time.

Delays:

  1. If you are running late for your appointment, please text me as soon as you can to inform me. If I do not hear from you by 20 minutes into your session, I will assume you do not plan to attend your session and I will charge you the full fee.

  2. If you are late for your session, it will still end at the scheduled time.

Reschedule and Cancellation:

  1. A minimum of 24-hour notice is required for rescheduling or cancellation of an appointment. If for any reason you cancel a session less than 24 hours prior or the Friday before a Monday session, I will charge the full fee.

  2. No-shows or cancellations made after the start of the session incur the full fee.

The work of psychotherapy can be challenging and sometimes it can feel easier to avoid coming in for treatment. This is also part of the process and I would prefer that we speak about it intentionally rather than you cancelling sessions.
